In the wood pastures Mendlingtal one experiences how timber rafting was done hundreds of years. For this there is a water powered Venetian sawmill and a Herrenhaus (inn) for a hearty snack. The fish ponds next to the paths are home to the Ybbstalforelle (trout). The road through pristine nature offers recreation for the soul. The valley is an experience for the whole family.

Eine schöne Tour durch die Erlebniswelt Mendlingtal und zu verschiedenen Bauernhöfen und Gasthäusern der Region. Von der Eisenwiesen bis zum Gasthaus Hammer erwartet Wanderer eine besonders schöne Aussicht. Vom Gasthaus Hammer nach Lassing geht's über vorwiegend Forststraßen retour.

The tour begins next to the village pond past the Bundesstraße down into the "Erlebniswelt Mendlingtal". Through the Adventure world one reaches the Refreshment station "Hammerherrenhaus" in about 1 hour. From the Hammerherrenhaus in the courtyard the tour continues on the asphalt road to the right back in the direction of Lassing. After about 800 m a meadow path, branching off to the left, leads uphill into the forest. The path continues until the Farmhouse Schwölleckau is reached and the forest is left behind. A meadow trail connects the farmhouse Schwölleckau directly with the farm Eisenwiesen (834 m above sea level). From this point onwards, one reaches downhill along the asphalt road the Farmhouse Lacken. The tour continues to the right between the house and garage for a 100 m and turns right to the edge of the forest. Following down the way and its markings one reaches the Ferienstadl (barn house) Hammerau. Then further down the path leads to the Gasthof (inn) Hammer. After the 2nd bridge turn left uphill to the estate Kerschbaum. Here, a meadow Road turns right. After approx. 500 m uphill a marked forest trail takes over which continues to converge into a forest road. On the left to the marked forest road above the Schoberbaches (river) the path goes for about 1/2 hour and reaches on the right via the bridge again a short forest path. Continuing on the right on a marked forest road one reaches the farmhouse Klein Brunneck. Following the gravel road along one finally reaches an asphalt road in the vicinity of the estate of Groß Brunneck. On this road, the tour goes back to the Valley. Just before a bridge crossing the River a gravel road branches off to the left. After 350 m a path branches off to the right which one follows along the Bachlaufes (river) up to the Hochkar-Alpenstraße (alpine-road). Then on the Alpine road right one attempts a short climb past the farms of Lassingbauer and Plachl, to the B-25. On the Bundesstraße one has a great view of lassing and onto the Großen Buchstein (mountain). The last meters of the walk lead toward Hotel Ensmann where one turns left. On the Lassinger local road one goes past the Church of Lassing. At the starting point of the hike the tour ends at the Gasthof (inn) Fahrnberger, located at the village pond.
