As a north-south axis, the EuroVelo 9 runs through Lower Austria. As part of the European long-distance cycling network, it connects the Baltic Sea with the Adriatic. On the way from Gdańsk to Pula, about 227 kilometers run through Lower Austria, the land for connoisseurs.

Limitless cycling pleasure full of enjoyment. On the EuroVelo 9 are picturesque vineyards, typical Heurigens, traditional cellar lanes, and historic towns. On 227 kilometers, the EuroVelo 9 first runs from the Czech town Breclav (Lundenburg) leisurely through the Weinviertel (section Breclav to Vienna), through Vienna and its splendid Ringstraße with city hall, Burgtheater, parliament, Hofburg, and State Opera. You can cycle the 89 kilometers from Breclav to Vienna comfortably in two days or in one day (good train connections).
From Vienna, you cycle through the Vienna Woods through the Vienna Hills with Heurigens, passing through the spa region to Wiener Neustadt (section spa cycle path along the Wiener Neustadt Canal - alternatively the Triesting valley cycle path). From Wiener Neustadt, the EuroVelo 9 mostly runs flat through the Vienna Alps. The Linsberg Asia Thermal Spa in Bad Erlach invites you to relax. The route leads somewhat more demanding through the Wechsel area to Mönichkirchen (section Wiener Neustadt to Mönichkirchen), where a magnificent view awaits.

From Breclav via Wiener Neustadt to Mönichkirchen
The Lower Austrian part of EuroVelo 9 runs from the Czech town of Breclav (Lundenburg) on quiet Weinviertel side roads via Neusiedl an der Zaya and Mistelbach first to Vienna.
From the outskirts of Vienna (Vorarlberger Allee), leisure cyclists ride to Laxenburg. In the spa region Wienerwald, the EuroVelo 9 is also called the spa cycle path.
Along the Wiener Neustadt Canal, you cycle through the wine land and Heurigen paradise past Pfaffstätten and Baden to Wiener Neustadt. On the route lies Bad Erlach with the Linsberg Asia Thermal Spa. Along the Rosalia ridge, you reach Grimmenstein, enjoy the flat stretch that runs from Edlitz to Aspang Markt. The final stage to Mönichkirchen gets sporty.
Érkezés
The route starts at the Austrian border with the Czech Republic. If you want to travel by train, there is the option to go to Breclav (Lundenburg), 7 km away, or Bernhardsthal, 4 km away, and start from there.
Trains from Vienna run regularly to Breclav and Bernhardsthal.
