Rövid leírás

A road bike route through history and nature

Leírás

The 88-kilometer-long route with only 350 meters of elevation leads through the Tulln Danube region and offers an ideal mix of relaxed riding and fascinating landscapes. The route starts in St. Pölten and follows the bike path to Pottenbrunn, passing the Wasserburg moated castle and Sitzenberg Castle. The route continues along the Danube and offers interesting views of the historic Zwentendorf nuclear power plant, which was never put into operation after its completion but became known as a symbol of the energy policy of the 1970s. Along the Danube up to the Wachau, the route continues with Göttweig Abbey, which majestically towers over the valley and places like Paudorf and Meidling. The Viehofner Lake at the end of the route offers the perfect opportunity to stop and cool down. With flat topography, this route is especially suitable for leisure cyclists and everyone looking for a scenic and historically shaped ride.
