Preserving and maintaining the building fabric was a major concern for the Rath family, who spent three years sprucing up the Thalhof. Together with them, the historic house has finally arrived in the 21st century. The many lounges and apartments (between 50 and 60 m²) quote famous guests. Each one is individually furnished. Exposed wall paintings and high-quality natural materials meet fast internet, modern works of art on the walls and designer lighting.

The world of the good old summer resort
The Thalhof was first mentioned as a country estate in 1652. In the 19th century, it was one of the top hotels in Europe with its noble salons, top cuisine and 120 rooms. Aristocrats, artists and literary figures were regular guests. Today, guests particularly appreciate the peace and quiet and the fresh country air. They bathe in nature in the truest sense of the word and stroll through the surrounding forest.

Regional breakfast with a view of the Rax
When it comes to food and drink, the Thalhof has remained true to tradition. As was the case 200 years ago, most of the produce comes from our own farm. They also have their own vegetable garden and a hunting ground in the adjoining forest. At least two thirds of what you are served for breakfast comes from the farm, regionally from the Rax or from the Schneeberg region. Vegan options included.

Meeting place for connoisseurs, hunters and summiteers
With "Klassik im Thalhof", a broad repertoire of operas, operettas, piano and chamber concerts is still offered in the old ballroom. Hunting enthusiasts can go stalking right on the doorstep, sports enthusiasts appreciate the tennis court, various running and mountain bike trails, hikers love the ascent to Knofeleben. With the Rax cable car, you can follow in the footsteps of the great thinkers in the summer resort region.
