The Johannes Zillinger organic winery is not only a trendsetter in organic viticulture, but has been living this philosophy for over 40 years. Viewing viticulture as a craft and the vineyards as a biotope is at the heart of the work. Protecting the environment and avoiding pollutants are top priorities. Healthy soils are the basis for vital vines and exciting wines. In the cellar, the development of the wines is given free rein, resulting in unique taste experiences. For some years now, a path has been taken that is referred to as biodynamic 2.0. Since 2019, more and more animals have been integrated into the vineyards. Sheep, chickens and Kunekune pigs now graze among the vines. These animals sustainably vitalize the soil and bring more life to the vineyards. Rare insects that need the animals' manure are returning and herbs that have not been seen for years are re-establishing themselves. The Johannes Zillinger organic winery is therefore a living example of sustainable and conscious viticulture.
